Democrats are backed into a
corner by a crafty GOP leadership
That is
my headline for what happened yesterday in the Senate. Understand that Barack Obama has returned to his failed
strategy of demanding a tax hike for the rich,
a move, should it become
law, that would supply eight days of
revenue each year for the Spend Happy Democrats. Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, yesterday, demanded a vote on that very demand. Harry Reid refused to entertain the vote
putting the Democrat Party on record as refusing its own president’s campaign request.
We wait
to see if this effects the rhetoric of either presidential candidate.
In the
House, a vote is being taken today, July
11, on the repeal of ObamaCare. Many see this vote as a total waste of
time, and, indeed, that would be the case if this vote was only
about the repeal of the ObamaCare Tax Act.
But, such is not the case.
Rather, this vote is as much
about putting Democrats on record – just before a critical election – as it is
a 31st declaration against this most unpopular piece of
legislation.
Hats off
to the Republican leadership in both houses of congress. Nothing wrong with putting politicians on
record, forcing them to declare their future intentions just before an election.
Obama has no more complaint with regard to the GOP and raising taxes on the rich . . . . . none. The GOP has agreed to a vote on the matter. The Democrats responded by abdicating their legislative responsibilities once again.
