In the Free Beacon, we have this story:
One of Barack Obama’s largest campaign bundlers is also the
leader of a secretive Democratic money machine.
Kelly Craighead, who has pledged to raise at least $500,000
to Obama’s reelection campaign, serves as president
and managing director of the Democracy Alliance, a group of wealthy Democratic
donors founded in 2005 with seed money from left-wing billionaire George Soros.
The Alliance serves as a clearinghouse that connects donors
to endorsed organizations—such as the Center for American Progress and the
pro-Obama Super PAC Priorities USA—without threat of disclosure. The
Alliance is not listed in any phonebook, and does not disclose its donors or
endorsed organizations. . . . .
Editor's notes: while the Democrats continually
accuse the GOP of "secret money,." opaque donor lists and the
support of the uber rich, they are "guilty" of the same,
and, I believe, to a greater measure.
That $500,000 total might not happen but this secretive and
unnamed donor pool, will collect several hundred thousand dollars in time for
the close days of the campaign season.
Keep this in mind the next time the Obama people complain
about Romney's refusal to force his supporting SuperPac to name their donors,
that the so-called "Democracy Alliance" exists for one reason,
and one reason only - to make donor tracking a near
impossibility. Have no doubt that this secret funding source is only one
of many in the Demorcat Party's financial network.
