The Wall
Street Journal has found and is reporting,
that labor unions, beginning in
the days before the Citizens United
decision – (Jan 25, 2009), have
contributed more than $600 million a year to political campaigns for an
admitted total of 4.4 billion dollars in the seven year period of 2005 - 2011, money these unions have not reported in times
past.
With that
in mind, we now know that the Obama
campaign spent more than 1.4 billion dollars against McCain’s $530
million. Of course, the 2012 campaign season promises to be very
different.
Keep this
fact in mind: the gross spending record
of the 2008 Obama campaign netted him a marginal 7 point victory. Against an opponent with equal funding
sources, the failing Obama may not be
able to duplicate his 2008 victory.
