<<<<< Koch Brothers. They are paupers compared to those on theLeft so let's stop with the nonsense that the GOP is the party of the rich. That is so wrong as to be, an outright lie.
While the Democrats whine about the Koch brothers, the Dems have their fair share of insanely rich, and many of them drive Democrat Party politics. The next time you care to respond to the idiot accusation that the GOP is controlled by the Koch brothers, you have this list with which to counter. Understand that this list of 20 names contains folks with a net worth of all GOP donors combined. As far as "big money," the Dems out shine the GOP by a scary margin.
George Soros, has to be the first on our list. He is a One World Socialist/Progressive and has given every bit as much to the Dems as the Koch brothers have given to the GOP.
Lewis Cullman, a committed philanthropist, he has given more than $300 million to the arts, science and poltics.
Stephen Bing, a big time progressive and environmentalist. he has given tens of millions to progressive causes and the likes of Hillary, John Kerry, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Diane Feinstein.
Susie Buell, co-founder of Esprit and huge progressive donor, she has decided to withhold support for Obama, this year, but will support other progressive causes.
Marcy Carsey, TV producer, worth some $600 million.
Warren Buffett, worth 33 billion dollars.
Bill Gates, worth $51 billion and big time progressive donor.
Ted Kennedy and family members - you know of their wealth
Peter Lewis, chairman of Progressive Insurance and worth a few billion. He has given millions to various causes, including education and politics.
John Kerry and his two rich wives, - Kerry is worth approximately the same as Mitt Romney and was that wealthy when he ran for president.
Alida Messinger, she is a Rockefeller, worth hundreds of millions. She gives her money primarily to Democrat 527s.
Nancy Pelosi, benefitting from her marriage to rich husband, Paul (her wealth grew from 21 million in ’09 to 35 million in 2010),
And the list goes on:
Barbara Boxer
Andrew Rappaport (a venture capitalist) ,
Greg and Maria Jobin-Leeds,
Simon Rosenberg,
Eliabeth Warren (worth 13 million),
Linda Pritzker , worth 1.6 billion and a devote Buddhist.
John Harris IV
Fay Paxton --
If Obama is a socialist, why has he gotten huge contributions from Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, Google, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, IBM, GE ... just to name a few huge capitalist enterprises?
ReplyDeleteGOP taking point - FAIL
First, lets be clear about one thing -- the only way to make money and create wealth apart from theft and taxation, is in the application of capitalist principles. That is an existential fact of life. The Red Chinese make money via capitalism, but they are still commies.
ReplyDeleteBecause a banker hedges his bets in an election year is meaningless. I estimate that near 60% of the Street's CEO's and owners are "progressives." I believe that 80% of small business is not.
One more thing: if Obama is not a socialist/One Worlder, what in the hell do you think he is??? And don't say "Democrat." Try to be a little intelligent in giving your answer.
Obama is in bed with the same people as the previous president. Wall St. The socialist line is pure BS. As are the birthers, and the hypocrite red state rednecks that complain about gov't spending while they get more from the fed than they give in taxes. The rednecks are the socialists - getting funding for their roads, infrastructure, education, police, etc... and complaining about it.
ReplyDeleteFunny you mention David Koch - the funder of the Smithsonian Institute's Hall of Human Origins - a display of human evolution. Yet they depend on the vote of ignorant fundamentalist creationists to get their guy elected. How gullible the ignorant GOP minions, easily manipulated and bought by people like the Kochs..
