As reported by Aljazeera
<<<<< We may be looking at the worst day in Middle East diplomacy thanks to the scatological politics of Barack Hussein Obama. Remember, the Muslim Brotherhood originally said they would not seek the presidency. A sad day for the women of Egypt and the nation of Israel.
The Muslim Brotherhood's Mohammed Morsi has officially won
Egypt's presidential election and will be the country's next president, the
electoral commission has announced.
Morsi picked up 13.2 million votes out of just over 26
million, giving him about 51 per cent of the vote. His competitor, Ahmed
Shafiq, the final prime minister under Hosni Mubarak, received 12.3 million.
More than 800,000 ballots were invalidated.
Farouq Sultan, the head of the election commission,
delivered a long speech before announcing the results in which he defended the
body's "independence and integrity" amidst what he called meddling by
unnamed political factions.
The two candidates filed 456 complaints about the electoral
process, Sultan said, most of them allegations of either forgery or Christian
voters being blocked from polling stations in Upper Egypt. The vast majority of
those complaints were dismissed. . . . .
Editor's notes: Morsi comes from the strictest of Brotherhood sects and has spoken out against the continued existence of Israel. The Muslim Brotherhood, under Morsi, is projected to take over the educational systems in Egypt. Understand that 80% of the Muslim population in the Middle East lives in Egypt.
As we all read and listen to the torrent of commentary that is about to fill the airwaves, I think it important that, in the midst of all the ensuing pessimism,
we should keep in mind that Morsi does not control the military. That is the good news. The bad news is found in the fact that more than half the population voted for this man and it is this half that is populated by jihadist and extremely fanatical. If they rise up against the military, it is not clear that the military would be able to resist.
During the election, Morsi claimed to allow for religious freedom but such is not the vision of those who voted for him. The hundreds of thousands of Egyptians celebrating in the streets at this very moment (June 24 8:07 am) received the announcement of Morsi victory 30 minutes ago. These Egyptian Muslims are not USA friendly and, most certainly, haters of Israel.
And, to think, we have our own president to thank for this circumstance. Understand that it was the Murbarak regime that maintained the peace in the Middle East, via the Camp David Accords signed under the Carter Administration. And, it was our "president" who initiated this unbelievable crisis.
Let's not forget that, following Obama's inauguration, he sought out Aljazeera for his first meeting with anyone in the "press," including our own media. I do not believe he is a Muslim, but there is no doubt that he has a "special" sense of alliance with these people.
