“We don’t need another political fight about ending a
woman’s right to choose, or getting rid of Planned Parenthood or taking away
affordable birth control. We don’t need that. I want women to control their own
health choices, just like I want my daughters to have the same economic
opportunities as my sons. We’re not turning back the clock. We’re not going
back there.” -- Barack Obama
Context for the coming battle
Those who favor abortion are more unpopular that ever before. Planned Parenthood has been exposed as
favoring gender-based abortions. Obama voted to allow late term abortions as a state Senator in
Illinois. And, no one in government is attempting to take
away “affordable birth control,”
nobody.
Rather, the coming
fight has to do with Obama’s notion that he and the Federal Government can order a religious institution to abandon its doctrine and accept federal
mandates in its place. Understand that
many observers, including this
editor, believe that Obama is a
practicing atheist. I have documented my
reasons for this on several occasions.
Bill Mahar, voiced the same opinion, in January of this year, when he said, “I think in the second term,
when he's got nothing to lose you're going to see the real Obama come out,
including his admission that he's an atheist too. "
The battle against the Administration defined
At any rate, with the
above comments, you have a glimpse of
the reasons for the coming battle between the Catholic Church and people of
faith and the Obama Administration.
On April 12, the Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty of
the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) issued a document, "Our
First, Most Cherished Liberty,” outlining the bishops’ concerns over
threats to religious freedom, both at home and abroad. The bishops called for a
“Fortnight for Freedom,” a 14-day period of prayer, education and action in
support of religious freedom, from June 21-July 4 (see their announcement, here).
Officials within the Catholic Church have made it clear that
they will neither obey this mandate nor pay the fines levied because of this act
of disobedience. 46 Catholic entities
have joined to file lawsuits in 12 Federal courts, challenging the constitutionality of this
unnecessary mandate. Understand that
Obama has already tried to force churches to hire “unbelievers” and was soundly
defeated in this effort (Hosanna Tabor Lutheran versus the EEOC ) in an unanimous Supreme Court decision. The Supreme Court said “No !!” to Obama in a
9 – 0 decision. Obama’s own appointees,
Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, both voted against this effort. The current mandated demand is just as unconstitutional and will, no doubt, meet with the same High
Court ruling.
The GOP claims ownership of Jesus...yet they try to elect a Momon cultist who believes in the prophet Joe Smith who lives with God on the planet Kolob, and whose grandfather fled to Mexico to practice polygamy.
ReplyDeleteYes, and how many women did your grand dad sleep with? And what is your opinion of the virgin birth. Are Catholics saved? How about Universalists? How about atheists? What is your position on the murderous cult of the Muslim Jihadist? What does it mean to speak of an "indwelling God?" Who came up that idea? You make fun of "Planet Kolob." What about "Planet Untopiomerica?" Which qualifies Obama most, his white upbringing or those 22 years he sat in the audience listening to Jeremiah Wright? Talk about a cultist !!! Maybe you forgot about old Jeremiah. You think that clown is right???
