Negotiating without leverage is "begging." Such defines Obama's foreign policy.

KT McFarland
KT McFarland has defined  "negotiating without leverage"  as begging.  That is important because it seems to be the methodology used by the Obama Administration.

With this in mind the following diplomatic disasters come to mind:

Obama's unilateral decision in breaking the missile defense treatises (early 2009)  with Poland and Czechoslovakia in an effort to appease the Russians.  End result:  nothing was gained or secured with this decision. Negotiating without leverage got Obama nothing for his efforts.

Early in Obama's presidency,  he sent ambassador's to Saudi Arabia,  begging that country for increased oil supply to the United States.  End result:  Negotiating without leverage got Obama nothing for his efforts.

Obama's decision to give a total of $1.3 billion to Hamas in Gaza,  in return for a willingness to enter into peace talks with Israel.  End results:  Hamas continues to bomb Israel.  Negotiating without leverage got Obama nothing for his efforts.

Obama sent secret messages to Turkey, asking for their help in dealing with Iran. End result was to deny that he did what he did. Negotiating without leverage got Obama nothing for his efforts.

Obama promised to give additional millions in food aid to North Korea (in February) in a signed treatise designed to curtail N Korea's nuclear projects.  Eight weeks later,  North Korea test fired an intercontinental missile.  End result:  Negotiating without leverage got Obama nothing for his efforts.

Obama ignored cries for help during the Green Revolution in Iran in an effort to secure diplomatic relations with that regime.  End results:   Negotiating without leverage got Obama nothing for his efforts.

Obama,  with help from the international community,  continues to sanction Iran with regard to that nation's march toward a nuclear capability.  End result:  too early to tell,  but to date,  negotiating without leverage has gotten Obama nothing for his efforts and put Israel in great danger.

Obama put out "feelers" promising to end the embargo with Cuba.  End result:   Negotiating without leverage got Obama nothing for his efforts.

Obama sided with the communists in Honduras (2009) during their constitutional crisis.  End result: to alienate the current and constitutional government.  Negotiating without leverage got Obama nothing for his efforts and has made him look like a fool in the eyes of the South American community.

Obama gave Brazil four billion dollars for oil exploration as he moved to become Brazil's "best customer."  In the end,  negotiating without leverage got Obama nothing for his efforts and demeaned the leadership of the United States in that part of the world.

Obama ignored the viciousness of Hugo Chavez, in Venezuela,  in an effort to secure a working relationship with that communist nation.  Today,  that country is working with a 5 billion dollar military investment from Russia and owns hundreds of ground to air missiles it did not have before Obama's term.  End resulting:  Negotiating without leverage got Obama nothing for his efforts.

As we review Obama's foreign policy strategies,  we find that the only thing he does well is kill people.  He opposed "torture" as defined by "waterboarding,"  but killed more than 50 prime al Qaeda leaders.  Killing these morons (including bin Laden and Anwar al-Awlake  is good,  except for the fact that we learn nothing from them via waterboarding or some means of  interrogations.  Obama "banned' waterboarding four years after Bush suspended the practice.  Bush waterboarded 3 people more than 200  times.  They all lived through the ordeal and gave up a considerable amount of information because of this process,  saving countless American lives .

Point of post:  to remind the reader of the comprehensive failure that is the Obama foreign policy.
