You've got to understand what kind of rednecks are fueling this debate on the GOP side. These are generally old white Christian men who think women need to bend over to accept their sperm on demand for procreation. The entire concept of females actually having sex for pleasure is 'slutty' to them. Most of these depraved old rednecks think female orgasm is a myth.

Case in point:

The Wilmington, N.C. commission voted to turn down a state family planning grant that would cover contraceptives for women.
The commissioners didn’t think it was right to use taxpayer money to pay for women who want to have sex for non-procreative purposes.

From the Star-News:

Chairman Ted Davis, a Republican, said, "If these young women are being responsible and didn’t have the sex to begin with, we wouldn’t have this problem."

That about sums it up.
