Time for a "third" party? Not before this coming election, but . . . . . .

Prologue:  the GOP will remain united through this coming election.  If Constitutional Conservatives are ignored,  if we are "left in the dust" after November of 2012,   a "third party" approach will be the next step.  Make no mistake,  this may be the last time the GOP,  as we know it, wins a national election.  - blog editor.

Here is the most important question of  this campaign cycle:    is the TEA party's support of Romney worth the compromise?

Keep in mind that I do not believe that Romney is the existential threat to this nation that Obama represents. . . . . . . . . a very important caveat to all that is written below.  But,  if conservatives keep on supporting folks who are not "as bad" as the Democrat alternative,  the end of the GOP as a conservative influence is over.

Understand that the TEA party came into prominence in rebellion to John McCain and the compromising elements within the GOP.  I call this subset the "GOP Establishment."  I quit donating to the GOP in 2006 because of the likes of Michael Bloomberg, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Donald Trump,  and John McCain and their acceptance within the GOP.  It was clear to me,  back then,  that the GOP had abandoned its Right Wing leanings and was no friend to conservative values.  Turns out that I was not alone.

There was no organization before 2009 that represented constitutionally minded conservatives. In spite of that obvious handicap,  this wing of the GOP stayed away from the voting booth in sufficient numbers so as to play a significant role in Obama's election. It was truly a grassroots organization.

I personally do not care how many Ann Coulters,  or Chris Christy's support Romney,  If Constitutional Conservatives decide that Romney is "just another John McCain,"  the end of the GOP is clearly in site.   Understand this,  in 2008,  the battle cry of Constitutional Conservatives  was this,  "Try winning an election without us."  That still applies,  today.

Whatever.

The point is this:  if we are not continuing  a serious Right turn with this election cycle,  then I am all for a "third party."  We have run out of time for any other decision.  I am willing to play the game but if that demands a compromise in perpetuity with those who  would forfeit our traditions,  our history,  and very Constitution,  I am done with that.
