“I used to be a conservative and I watch these debates and I’m wondering, I don’t think I’ve changed, but it’s a little troubling sometimes when people are appealing to people’s fears and emotion rather than trying to get them to look over the horizon for a broader perspective and that’s kind of where we are.”
I am beyond tired of listening to this drivel. Understand that I came out of the Democrat party shortly after voting for Jimmy Carter. Ron Reagan was the defining personality of the GOP and Jeb, nor G.W. nor George H are a match for Ron Reagan. What we have watched for three years in Washington D.C. is, in fact, a frightening display of arrogance coupled with the most prolific abuse of power I have seen in my lifetime, and Jeb thinks such talk (from me) is illustrative of a fear factor that is out of place within the GOP. As much as I respect the deeply felt spirituality of GW (and I do), he was fully compromised as to macro-economics, issuing only one veto in eight years and I doubt that "one" was against a spending bill. He made the abortion pill more accessible. He increased the size of government, but, not at the rates we see in the Obama Administration. His trust in Henry Paulson, his Treasury Secretary and a Democrat, proved to be misplaced as we learn of the excesses of the TARP "rescue" scam and the distribution of between 7 and 24 trillion dollars (I have seen articles with both numbers) to Big Banking, in this country and in Europe.
Jimmy Carter was just in over his head. Obama is the willing tool of the Corrupt Left (there is a Non-corrupt Left, btw). 3/4 of all Stimulus monies went to Democrats or Democrat districts and he continues to dole out money in the same proportions, today. He put GM into bankruptcy, the very thing Republican lawmakers suggested. The only difference was found in the fact that GM was given to the auto unions as Obama cheated the primary share holders out of millions of dollars in stock held retirement funding. But who cares about that -- certainly not a single Democrat reading this blog. "He saved the auto industry" as if his plan was the only workable option. He ripped off hundreds of shareholders, (most of them Democrat police and teacher union workers) for the sake of the UAW and the graft it can produce for his political concerns and Democrats want you to believe the auto rescue was "special."
And . . . . . . . . Jeb Bush wants us to pretend that this level of corruption is acceptable as "we" chart a partisan solution to the New America that lies in the future.
I am thinking that we have been hiding in the Bushes for far too long.
There are NO conservative intellectuals. When Jeb Bush says, "I used to be a conservative and I watch these debates and I'm wondering, I don't think I've changed, but it's a little troubling sometimes when people are appealing to people's fears and emotion rather than trying to get them to look over the horizon for a broader perspective" .... basically saying he hasn't changed but the GOP has. Face it, conservatives have become extreme. No question. When a conservative intellectual emerges who dare to speak the truth, moron denialists like Smithson throw him under the bus. Easier than looking in the mirror.
ReplyDeleteRamussen Poll proves it: Most likely voters see the GOP agenda as 'extreme'
Its your president who does not know how to pronounce "corpsman" or how many states there are in the Union or whether Hawaii is in Asia. It was your president who came up with "shovel ready jobs" and the theory that if we aired up the tires on our finely tuned cars, we would no longer need Middle Easter oil. Oh, how about the theory of "all government spending is Stimulus" coming out of one side of Obama's mouth while using the other side to condemn George Bush for spending too much. Who came up with the bright idea to develop wind energy when we are two decades away from having an electric grid that can support such energy - at eight times the cost of hydraulic energy? Whose bright idea was that, Moron?
ReplyDeleteNo one in the lower middle class can afford the electric cars on the market today -- what Marxist genius thought that one up? His healthcare plan will triple the price of medical equipment within 10 years because of the taxes and regulations now being exercised on those commodities . . . and you call that genius?
And then you claim that the majority of the people think the TEA Party is extreme. Because the Marxist Media has done its job in influencing the public on what to think of the TEA party, you think I am impressed? Today, the patriot nation is considered "extremist" by some because they believe in parental rights, saluting the flag, using the word "God" once in a while, fighting for the sake of "freedom," praying, believing in "Satan," and NASCAR . . . . to name a few.
Do you have any idea what the results would be, if Rasmussen polled on each of the individual beliefs held by the patriot nation? Try 60 and 70 percent support. "TEA Party" is not the issue, dude. It is what we believe, and we have destroyed the opposition on that.
A few mispronunciations is nothing. Your last president was so incoherant and unable to speak with proper grammar, the term "Bushisms" was born.
ReplyDeleteWhen Santorum get applause for saying that Obama is a snob because he wants kids to go to college, that about sums up the level that we're dealing with in the teaparty. Ignorant, anti-education, anti-science ... your people.
It's good to be on the side of science, truth, education and progressivism. Science by nature is progressive. Conservatism and ignorance by nature are regressive.
