Look, I am not a big fan of the government, but all this talk of governmental shutdown and resulting doom and gloom, has proven to be nothing more than chunky style barnyard, coming from the media. It is media rhetoric designed to sell news, and nothing more.
The spending bill passed, yesterday, was the 7th emergency bill passed during this year, alone. The reason why we have these "emergency" demands has to do with the fact that Democrat leadership has refused to pass an annual budget for the past three years. This is not a shared responsibility. It is the fault of just one party.
This nation has never functioned without a budget -- never before in American history.
All budgets begin in the House of Representatives. That is the law. While others can craft a budget proposal, all formal budgetary legislation has to begin in the House. With the 2008 election of our first radicalized government, that leadership decided to forego the legislative process that was the formal budget of this country. Result: 10 emergency "continuing resolutions" passed during that time. Instead of having two budget fights, the Democrats wanted to have 10 such battles, apparently.
This year, the GOP is in charge of the House, and, sure enough, that leadership worked up and passed a budget, sending it to the Senate for finalization. Instead of getting the job done, Hapless Harry Reid, for the third consecutive year, has tabled that bill, refusing to allow the Senate to complete its job.
Consequently, the government was about to run out of money, for the 7th time, this year.
Enough is enough. Folks need to tell Harry Reid to stop with this practice, and do he has failed to do, for the past three years.
