$50,000 per year is $4166 per month. The tax "holiday" amounts to 2.2% of that pay-check or, $91.60 a month. This might be a little too complicated for the more intelligent "liberal class," but two months times $91.60 is hardly $1,000.

Secondly, understand that Obama told Boehner that he wanted a one year extension. Boehner agreed. Obama then went to Harry Reid and ordered Hapless Harry to reject the House bill and demand a two month extension - "we can make the Republicans look all the more heartless and win another PR battle." That is exactly what happened, last week.
