Why is the media given the power to judge those with whom they do not agree? We have the answer and it might surprise you.

Actually, the answer lies within us . . . . conservatives . . . . . as a constituency. And what is a constituency if it is not a collective of citizenry pursued by leadership? With that assumption in mind, why is the Lame Stream Media given power, election after election? Who died and put this bunch of Marxist Misfits in charge of vetting and, even, approving the candidacy for any particular politician?

Our leadership. . . . . . that's the answer ! Our leadership died. One of many things I respected about Sarah Palin was the fact that she was on track to putting the press in its place. Perhaps, in the end, she was beaten down by their private threats against her, her parents, her husband and his family. I don’t know. But understand that I could not care less if the media succeeds as a business model, in this country. They are not to be trusted and we all know this. It is just fine with me if we have no "established" media at all.

Every other week, we watch as the Marxist Brothers put our candidates on trial. Oh, to be sure, they call it a "debate," but it is hardly such a thing. I debated in my college days and I know what makes a debate a debate. What we see on the telly is, often, nothing more than a carefully crafted polemic event that benefits those who are not contestants, even the enemy of those on stage !!

We should completely ignore these people. I, for one, have not watched a network news cast in years. The last time, I believe, was the night Peter Jennings retired, in tears, telling his fans that he had lung cancer. Sorry about that, but I must admit, his work did not benefit me to the slightest nor advance the cause of freedom in this country.

And look at the media. The networks are a mess, losing viewership each and every day. The NY Times, the LA Times, the Washington Post, the Boston Herald are all fighting bankruptcy. CNN is viewed by fewer people than watch the naked gay football channel. MSNBC has devolved into a collection of white liberal bigots with their token black guy (Al Sharpton of all people) and no one watches Al Gore's Current TV (35,000 a day if you can believe that). Who gets the credit for that? We the people, that's who.

So why are the media still hanging around, vetting and running our debates? I lay the blame at the feet of our leadership. Of the nine candidates on the debate stage, only one is ready to tell the press to take a hike and that is Newt. Cain runs a close second, running his campaign as he sees fit, in disregard for the opinion of the press and the Establishment GOP. Santorum and Bachmann play the media game more than they should and Ron Paul, Mitt Romney and Rick Perry follow the media around like dogs in heat.

Understand that I, as an editor, may run one or two more stories on the Cain controversy. Maybe not. I do not care what the media thinks of Herman Cain as relates to this “scandal,” when it was as derelict as it was in the coverage of Bill Clinton's horn dog behavior, as president of the United States, dropping drawer during working hours, day in and day out. Did you know that Monica signed-in at the White House more than 60 times? People would argue with me, "He has the right to do what he wants in his private life." Of course he does . . . but his sexual escapades were during working hours, in the White House, just off the Rose Garden, making dignitaries wait 'til he and Monica finished with their Dance of the Cigar and the like. The media would have strung up George Bush by his feet and let him hang until dead, and all of us know it.

I know that we will have liberals with us always. They have been with us from the beginnings of our nation. But this current crop of Marxist Misfits and Radical reformers, well, it is past time for them to be gone, along with their media and their legislative agenda. Look at the mess we are in and, to think that what we are watching, the disaster standing on the stage before us, stood behind the opening of the curtains for decades. While the influences contributing to the present distress have been around since the mid-1930s and the introduction of Keynesian macroeconomics, the final curtain call was not drawn until 2007 and the advent of the current Marxist Leadership within the once proud, Democrat Party. Pelosi and Reid took the reins of power from an inept GOP Establishment, lead by the compromising John McCain, and now stand on the precibus on one of the worst election disasters in American history.

And our leadership continues to give this bunch the respect "due their office." They allow the media the privilege of running our debates, and polling our constituencies and poisoning our own rhetorical commentaries. Why doesn’t someone investigate Chris Matthews or Brian Williams or David Gregory or Ed Shultz or Keith Olbermann? No drugs in their closets, no cocaine hidden behind the toilet, no hooch stashed under the kitchen sink, no late night rendezvous with transvestite lovers, no lying about their educational credentials, no bankruptcies? There are thousands of these media types around and none of them, to my knowledge, has ever been investigated disgraced.

It is time to demand more of our leaders. It is time to fight fire with fire. And after the misfits are gone, we can regain a civil stance and proceed with the affairs of state.
