The woman to the left, and I do mean Left, (Kathleen Parker) is a blond in every sense of the word. (my apologies to those who do not meet this stereotype). She is an opinion writer for the Leftist rag, the Washington Post. As to her politic, I would describe her as an Establishment Republican. On Friday, the WaPost included her editorial, a mindless article typifying the GOP as "stupid," anti-science, faith driven and out of step with mainstream thought. She entitled this bit of literary idiocy, The Palinization of the GOP, and then proceeded with her commentary without the mention of Palin, per se, in the article. She writes:
It takes courage to swim against the tide of know-nothingness that has become de rigueur among the anti-elite, anti-intellectual Republican base. Call it the Palinization of the GOP, in which the least informed earns the loudest applause
and then, tears into the Cain candidacy as if there is something systemically wrong with a party that would invite the common, everyday citizen into the political process. Apparently the elitist community hates the idea that they are not the only game in town.
And what have these nitwits produced? Runaway debt and a president who once told the nation that if we simply aired up our tires and tuned our engines, we could eliminate the need for Middle Eastern oil. Yeh, he actually said that and none of the Kathleen Parker's of the world had a fit.
They simply do not understand how stupid they appear when they present a toy "reset" button to a foreign diplomatic corps; when their president does not know how to pronounce "corps;" when they argue "all government spending is stimulus" and then criticize Bush for his spending. . . . . .
continue reading here . . . . . . . . .when they defend their version of the legislative process with these words, "We have to pass the bill so that we know what is in the bill." It is her side of the aisle, the intellectual, pointie headed academics, who think the "Occupy" idiocy makes sense. She is fine, apparently, with government programs that keep the poor, poor - we constantly hear of the increasing poor population in spite of the fact that we have tripled welfare to this constituency (and that is what they are) over the past decade; something wrong with that program but the elites have no clue what that is so they throw more money at the problem. Genius. Look what has happened to our educational system since the elites have taken over its management. To make matters worse, they centralized control over the nation's educational system with the creation and misuse of the Department of Education. It is fine with these know-it-alls that parents are not allowed in the classroom, that it is somehow criminal to tape class lectures or edit school textbooks or expect a certain level of competency on the part of our teachers, or send our daughters to abortion mills without our permission. They actually think it a good idea to do away with "gate" programs and to continue to dumb down the system in the name of social justice and equality. They have a president who has aggressively moved against the oil and coal industries while alternative fuel, as a viable alternative, is 30 years into the future. How stupid is that, to replace something with nothing.
This is the bunch who criminalizes waterboarding while approving of "death by drone." Bush waterboarded three people and ended the practice in 2005. Obama "banned the practice" in 2008, three years too late, and replaced it with the killing of hundreds of targeted terrorists and the innocents living in the surrounding communities. Understand that when you kill a terrorist in a house, you kill scores of innocents, at the same time. But waterboarding is evil and collateral murder is fine. More genius.
This woman has a Pulitzer prize and a graduate degree, and, still, is able to come up this kind of rhetorical crap. Incredible. And what is almost humorous is that she thinks she is the intelligent one in this conversation !!
