2008: Obama raises three quarters of a billion dollars to win an election by 7%. 2012, John McCain will be nowhere in sight.

Original Commentary by J Smithson
Here is a chart confirming this point: with all the talk of Obama raising a billion dollars for the 2012 election, understand that he did that very thing in 2008 and won election by only 7% of the vote. Anyone think he is more popular today than back then? I hasten to remind you that nearly half of the money raised by Obama remains undisclosed, as to its sources. McCain, for what its worth, detailed all his expenses.

I believe that Obama took in much more money than $720 million. That should be encouraging to those who are working against this man's re-election. The fact of the matter is this: Obama will not raise more money than in 2008. But, the press will do its best to convince you otherwise. And, this time out, Corporate America donations will offset Big Labor donations. Thanks Citizens United.
