Obama's First 1000 Days Review -- Report #1: Promises Broken

The following is an assimilation of campaign promises broken by Obama during his his three years in office. His first 1000 days were finished on Monday, October 17, 2011. The report is rather comprehensive and divided into at least 4 reports: Promises Broken is our first installment and counts only those promises I feel are the more critical. The list is original with this blog, but, of course, most of the information is common knowledge in the blogosphere.

  1. Promised seniors making less than $50,000 no more income tax levied Never brought it up after ascending to the throne.

  8. Create a foreclosure prevention fund for homeowners. Instead, created a foreclose bailout, that promised to help 4 million homeowners but only gave aid to 600,000 and 30% of those still lost their homes.
  9. Promised to end no bid contracts on jobs over $25,000. Never mentioned it after election. The current arrangement benefits unions.

  19. Promised to create a centralized Internet database of lobbying reports, ethics records, and campaign finance filings in a searchable, sortable and downloadable format." Not even close.
  20. Promised to not enlist lobbyist in his Administration. At last count he had 17 ex-lobbyists on board.
  21. Allow 5 days for public to review publish laws before signing. Never gave this promise a second thought.
  22. Promised to make White House communications public. Instead, is fighting to keep emails and White House visitor registry off limits to the public view.
