It is no surprise to me that Obama announces the beginning his campaign for president of the United States after only two years of pretending to be president while, on the same day, he announces (via the DOJ) the end of his fantasy civilian trial of KSM and four other terrorist defendants. The trial was to be held in New York City and few people on either side of the aisle thought this was a good or reasonable idea. Even Charles Schumer spoke out against the trial.
The Administration, via Eric Holder, while "standing by its decision" to try these murderers in civilian court, reversed course, blaming the turn-around decision on members of congress "who intervened," and undermined the Administration's efforts for a "fair and speedy" trial of the Muslim defendants.
As I write, I am listening to Holder (11:09 am) rag on congress and defend his original decision, blaming "congress" for its interference without mentioning the fact that the congress to which he specifically references was the 111th congress, one that was fully controlled by Democrats on all levels. Understand that this is a great defeat for those who wanted George Bush put on trial for crimes against humanity. In the civilian court, there was the distinct possibility that the case would be thrown out because of the waterboarding issue. If that had happened, Obama, Holder and the radical Left hoped to blame Bush for this failure and gain an election advantage with that circumstance. But such was never going to happen.
It was a stupid idea and reality finally caught up to the current regime.
Holder was asked if he know better than the legislators who opposed his decision and his answer was a succinct and defiant "Yes."
Stupidity has been replaced by arrogance.
No points will be scored with this announcement. Holder was far too combative and arrogant in his presentation.
These people are what they are, angry, arrogant and, yes, stupid wrong on so many issues.
Expect the collective response in the coming hours and days to be blunt and straight up in your face beginning with a very angry reply from David Beamer, father of Todd Beamer, the young man credited with trying [with others] to save flight 93, famous for the words "Let's roll."
Understand that it has been nearly 10 stinking years since 9/11 and 8 years after KSM was captured and the men in custody have no charges filed against them. The original charges were dropped when Obama ordered Holder to move the trial to New York and Holder never refiled charges in the intervening year and a half.
If the reader does not get the fact that this reversal was announced only minutes following Obama's announcement that he would run for re-election, that this decision is self-serving in the worst of ways, then he will vote for this clown who is living in our White House and hope for intelligent change will be diminished.
