Gallup's survey shows unemployment on a bit of an increase ------ to 10.3% !!

Gallup generally runs about three points higher than the government figures. Last week, however, the government number of 9.0% was not even close to the Gallup figure of 9,9% . Midknight Review anticipates a jump in the Department of Labor unemployment stat to 9.5% from that 9.0% anomaly --- and that is exactly what that 9.0 number was, an anomaly.

Understand that Obama and his MSM are busy trying to reinvent both his popularity and the public perception of his politic. Unlike Bill Clinton, Obama is an ideologue and, hence, cannot make much of a move to the middle. And, indeed, he has not.

Look, the tax compromise was not a "move to the middle." Rather, it was a face saving concession, having been beaten to the punch by Mitch McConnell. What he is doing with EPA regulations and Cap and Trade is proof that he is no more a moderate than he is Chinese (I think we all agree that he is definitely not Chinese).

The whole strategy of circumventing congress via his regulatory agencies is hardly a move a Constitutional Conservative would pursue. But he remains determined to frame himself as the "man in the middle," the lone, sure voice of mediation between the GOP and the Democrats, between grid-lock and the business of the people.

If he can keep those unemployment numbers under 9.3% for three months or so, he can add those figures to his claim that he has "broken the back of the recession." Know this, he can fool around with the numbers for a period of time, but not without end. I short order, the truth will push through.

The new unemployment numbers come out on Thursday. Until then, we will wait to see how close Gallup (10.3% unemployment) and Obama's Department of Labor will be.

Understand that if this number rises to 9.5% or higher, someone was playing games last week . . . . . . big time.
