We believe that Obama is creating a huge barrier to his re-election. Understand that the Gulf is a continuing disaster for employment and oil production. The price per gallon at the pump has increased 25 cents over the past two months, here in California, because of Obama's policies. And the coal industry has been dealt a death blow via Obama's new permit process for water usage. Half of this nation's residential energy comes from coal.
We all know what happens if and when gas prices get to $4.00 a gallon. His policies are threatening more than his election. There is the little matter of the economy. We forget the negative influence rising fuel prices had on the economy in 2008. There is no reason why 2008 will not happened again if energy prices are not held in check.
Obama is anti-fossil fuels. Take that to the bank. When we make that statement, we are saying that his opinion of fossil fuels is very different from his predecessors. He is not the first to make "green" an important consideration, but he is the most militant. His Administration if full of environmental academics and most of them exist [in his Administration] at the regulatory level. The Consumer Product Safety Commission and the EPA are two agencies Obama is using to circumvent Congress as he moves to accomplish his energy agenda.
This editor forecasted $4.00 per gallon for the summer of 2010. Didn't happen. But, we have not abandoned our prediction that four and [even] five dollars per gallon is on the horizon.
The reader needs to budget ahead for such an occasion. It will happen and you need a strategy for such a development . . . . . . . a second "economy" vehicle (car or motorcycle) ; a job closer to home; retirement; moving to another state; moving to another country.
We believe the energy circumstance is the most critical issue facing Obama and the citizenry - each for very different reasons.

2. You should know that the Consumer Product Safety Commission is about to install a complaint policy that allows consumer complaints to be made public before the veracity of those complaints have been verified. You will not be familiar with this name, Elizabeth Warren. She is Assistant to the President and Special Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In other words, she is another czar. She is an academic with great credentials but with no private sector experience. The Consumer Product Safety Commission is under her perview . This recent decision will allow false complaints to have the force of truth. A negative and well publicized complaint, if effectively constructed, can put a business competitor out of business before the effects of the dishonest complaint can be corrected. This is what we get when academics rule the nation. And, they do.
