Barack Obama is about to get a crash course on how to deal with his own party. There can be no doubt that this will be the subject of the hour when Bill and Barack get together later today. Condoleezza Rice met with Mr Obama last month. It is assumed the subject matter was much the same as that of today's meeting.
Those who support Sarah Palin just sit by and smile at all this inexperience. Understand that what is more the deficit in Obama's supposed arsenal of character qualities is his political instincts. He has none. What has brought the house down on Obama is two-fold: first, he acted unilaterally in making the deal with the GOP and, secondly, he pushed back on his own party, in public, and with their first complaints.
Yesterday, House Democrats, meeting behind closed doors, used the "F" bomb more than at any time in the recent past, nearly all of which was directed at Obama. Literally, "F Obama" was the core attitude of the gathering. The result of the meeting found House Dems rejecting Obama's compromise with the Republicans. They are mad enough to fight and their expressed vote is just that, a declaration of war against Obama.
Clinton, as partisan a Democrat as there is, will be meeting with Obama in the face of this out-of-control Democrat rebellion.
Say what you will about Palin. We are convinced that she would have never negotiated such a deal without consulting with members of her caucus.
