FoxNews Poll has Obama at 40%.

FoxNews recently posted its poll of presidential approval. Obama came in at 40% .

"Yeah, but that is Fox. "

Not so fast. It is not just Fox. Of the nine major polling concerns listed by RealClearPolitics, all of them have Obama below 50% and 6 of the 9 have Obama at 45% or below.

It would not surprise Midknight Review to see his numbers improve, next week, what with the Congressional "victories" he is claiming for himself . . . . . and we mean to say "for himself." The Bush tax extension became a discussion between Obama and GOP leadership. No one else was involved. After an agreement was reached, Obama talked to Senate leadership but continued to go around House leadership.

The polls seem to post the same results as four weeks ago. But there is a significant difference. While the end result of recent polling is the same, the reason is a little different. It now includes a growing discontent with his radical base. He has lost this constituency, at least for a time.

Of course, they will not become Republicans, but they just might stay away from the 2012 elections, despite the importance of that contest.

Understand that of the 33 Senate seats up for grabs in 2012, 22 of them are Democrat seats and 13 of those are in conservative districts. If the GOP can choose a winner at the May, 2012, National Convention and win back the Senate, they can dismantle ObamaCare and that is huge.

So we wait and watch and us old guys, (I am 65) hope we have enough life left to see this battle to a successful conclusion.
