According to a rather extensive article from CNS News, it appears that the Obama adminisration has declared war on the beef industry. We already know of Obama's disdain for "profitering" at all levels. Secondly, we are fully aware of Michelle Obama's allegiance with the food Nazi's and her effort to revise the public schools dietary policies. A nutrition bill she recently supported was surprisingly voted down in Congress. It was opposed by 106 House Democrats . . . a very bad showing for the First Lady. The problem with the bill was the spending solution it proposed -- cutting $4.5 billion out of the Federal Food Stamp program to pay for the implementation of the new bill. Go to this link for the story.
Finally, we know that Obama has no regard for the Congressional process. "End run" is a pronounced aspect of his Marxist/Liberation agenda. He knows that his agenda as to air-pollution is not a reasonable expectation, legislatively, so he has ordered his EPA to instituted extreme requirements when it comes to dust creation.
The dust regulation is one of several new proposals the EPA is considering, including regulating ammonia emissions from cattle operations; nationalizing standards for soil phosphorus levels, which determine where farmers can use manure; regulating greenhouse gas emissions; and greater regulation of farming on the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The Administration had no comment as to why this all needs to be done in the midst of the current recession.
The standards being enacted are the strictest in history, repressive in scope and expensive to meet. Obama fantasizes that he is "revitalizing rural America." Instead, he is driving much of the farm and ranching industry out of business. A group of 75 legislators have voiced their concern for this idiocy.
In part, this is what they communicated to the White House: “Considering the administration’s claim that it is focusing on revitalizing rural America and rural economic development, a proposal such as this would have a significant negative impact on those very goals,” they wrote. “We are hopeful that common sense will prevail and the EPA will refrain from causing extreme hardship to farmers, livestock producers, and other resource-based industries throughout rural America.
We have elected a man who has no regard for Federal law (enforcing what he sees fit), Constitutional processes, the "separation of powers," or the expressed and demonstrable will of the people.
