The Chamber of Commerce is audited each and every year by the IRS. End of story. Money collected in partner organizations outside our country is not "foreign money" if it comes from Americans working in foreign countries. American Labor collects the same type of money from their overseas operations and Labor's political donations far exceed anything the Chamber collects. To date during this campaign cycle, Big Labor has given 171 million dollars to Democrat causes compared to the Chambers 75 million. In fact, the state-worker's union, the AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and municipal Employees), a smaller part of Big Labor, has given 87 million.
Understand that the charges leveled against the Chamber of Commerce by Obama are criminal charges. The enforcement agency, here, is once again, the IRS. The NY Times is one of many that sees no problem with the Chamber. Finally, the Chamber's money is not "secret" money in the sense that we think of "secret." There is nothing that tells us that the Chamber is hiding its sources from the IRS. Because our Thug President and his henchmen cannot get their hands on the names of those who help campaign against them does not mean that the money is "secret" in a criminal sense of the word. Privacy is allowed by law. Criminal secrecy is not.
