Republicans are back on top in Gallup's tracking survey of Congressional election preferences, reversing a two-week boomlet for the majority Democrats.
The survey, conducted July 26-August 1, shows that 48 percent of respondents say they would vote for a Republican Congressional candidate this November, while 43 percent would back the Democrat. In the previous week, Democrats led in the generic matchup 48-44 percent.
