Is there room for the GOP to become a better Party? Oh, you betcha !!!

Editor's notes: Midknight Review believes that the Grand Old Party needs to give attention in a "majorly" way to these very concerns: projected and effective empathy, an ability to legislate real change, and honesty in their manner of governance. Understand that this publication is not a GOP rag. We are Conservatives here, and work against many of the old GOP guard. Senator Lott is on our hit list as is McCain, Lindsey Graham, Dick Lugar, Senators Collins and Snowe and anyone in the House who does not identify with the Conservative Caucus or the growing TEA Party Caucus. Will we split our vote come midterms or 2012? No. But we are helping change the face of the GOP in our partnership with others bloggers, the GOP primary battles, and conferences and demonstrations between national elections.

If we - as a Party - are going to oppose abortion, for example, the GOP needs to be a leader in the reformation of adoption laws and the happy placement of unwanted children. If we care about the world's population, we need to be a leader in the world's fight against disease and famine. If we care about personal freedoms, we need to return real political power to the local government and the individual citizenry. The Conservative grassroots movement within the GOP is dead serious about recapturing that party's roots. There will come a time when we conservatives bolt entirely from the established liberal elements that have ruled the day since Reagan - and, yes, we mean to include the Bush family. Understand there are some 60 million conservative types in this country. Now is the time to end Progressive Marxist advances. We cannot accomplish this if we do not change the old, white, legal face of the GOP.

Point of post: to point the way to a better GOP and to urge party members and associates to get busy.

GOP Image Still Weak

Despite the Republican Party’s favorable electoral prospects, its image with the public is still relatively weak. The public views the Democratic Party as more concerned about the needs of “people like me,” more able to bring about needed change, and as governing in a more honest and ethical way.

These opinions are little changed from February of this year. The Democratic Party’s lead on some traits is smaller than it was in October 2006, near the end of the previous midterm campaign. At that time, 55% viewed the Democrats as more concerned about the needs of average Americans, while just 27% said the GOP was more concerned.

Notably, the Republican Party holds a slight edge over the Democratic Party as better able to manage the federal government. Currently, 41% choose the Republican Party while 37% choose the Democratic Party. In October 2006, the Democratic Party held a 10-point lead as the party better able to manage the government (44% to 34%). . . . READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE >>
