Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.
Have any idea what a 130 pound catfish looks like? Kinda like a bullhead only bigger !!
You are looking at a record catch -- a blue catfish weighing 130 pounds, beating the previous Missouri record by a whopping 27 pounds.
The fish is only 57 inches long with a girth of 45 inches. It took Greg Bernal a full hour to actually land this monster.
The International Game Fish Association is researching the record catch for a potential world record. It is looking as though the fish may be the largest ever caught by 6 pounds.
The fish was caught on a 40 pound monofilament line. Bernal has a previous catch hanging on one of his walls, at home. That fish weighed in at a paltry 74 pounds !!
Here are the three records that may be reset:
IGFA (International Game and Fish Association)- All tackle world record,
IGFA- Line Class world record, and of course the Missouri State record. Please keep in mind that there are other larger catfish in the record books, but not of the same 'Blue Cat' species.
