Understand that every time you see a headline about a new spending bill with the word "emergency" in the text, the proposed legislation is being passed in violation of "paygo." Here is another one of those headlines, posted this morning:
You should know that this is not an "emergency" in the typical sense of the word. If a bill does not have this word or the concept it represents embedded in its text, Congress has to find a way to pay for the legislation. We are saying that the presence of the word or concept of "emergency" allows congress to, then, pass the legislation without having to pay for the thing. It is a gimmick.
Last fall, Congress past a law known as "paygo." Obama even pushed for its passage so that he could stand before the nation and pretend to be a responsible member of the government. The Marxist Minion Media will never tell you that after the Dems passed "paygo" and Obama made that silly little speech about responsible spending, the next day, the very next day, the Dems began working on a spending bill they declared an "emergency" and passed it through congress without the need to find a way to pay for the emergency. Such irresponsibility borders on being just plain stupid.
The bill now being considered will go to save the union legacy programs of teachers and police. $50 billion passed without a clue as to how it will be paid. Of course, these unions vote for Obama in mass and that is the only reason why they are being considered for this "rescue."
We are in luck, however. This additional emergency spending cannot throw the 2010/2011 budget off course because the Dems have no intentions of passing a budget !! That's right - there will be no budget passed by this congress before the mid-term elections. First time ever. Can these folks be more incompetent? --- jds.
