Soooo, its been a month since the beginning of the Gulf oil "spill" Guess what? No environmental disaster, as of yet -- AFTER MORE THAN A MONTH .

Emulsification: The process of dispersing one liquid in a second immiscible liquid; the largest group of emulsifying agents are soaps, detergents, and other compounds, whose basic structure is a paraffin chain terminating in a polar group.

Think about that definition. Couple it with this fact: the crude that is "leaking" into the Gulf waters is what is called "light crude" Gasoline is an example of "light" crude. Spill some onto the surface of your driveway and see what happens. It EVAPORATES.

Is it possible that this "leak" will prove to be a non-issue? Just askin'.

Understand that IF THIS IS THE FACT, the environmental scare-mongers will have been totally discredited. Up until just now, this editor has believed this oil spill to be one of the most disasterous environment catastrophies in American history. Midknight Review has gone on record recommending the end of off-shore drilling until we figure out what just happened

But after five weeks of "the sky is falling, the skiy is falling," our screaming throats are beginning to get "horse" and, of course, nothing has happened to justify our fears.

Our thinking is this: what if nothing happens as a result of this spill? Wouldn't THAT be a hoot !!?? Keep that in mind as we continue to wait for the bad news to actually happen. --- jds
