That's the headline. Now, Midknight Review asks this question: does anyone out there in Liberal Lala Land have any clue as to the details of the Obama Immigration Plan? Our answer - "Of course not."
We know folks who shout, "I voted for Obama and am proud of it !!" Yeah. They are "proud" of it, yet not a single one of these folks can give you an answer to our question, above. Why? Because their leader has no such plan.
Most of us, even conservative types such as this editor, have come to the realization that the 12 million (or is it 20 million) illegals in this country are not going to be sent back to Mexico.
The plan that seems to be coming to the surface is this: get these illegals to register, show evidence of having a job, get their address and the names and ages of their family members, get them to agree to pay a fine for having broken our immigration laws, move them to the back of the legal immigrant line, have them fulfill all the current requirements for becoming a citizen and -- most important of all, seal the border. . . . . no more illegal crossing of our borders. Should they have healthcare coverage while they wait? Of course, as long as they can afford to pay for it. They are not citizens as yet. And if they cannot afford healthcare? Well, they will just have to go back the ER waiting room.
That seems to be the evolving immigration plan. But not for Obama. He is silent on this issue -- only that he promises and promises and promises to solve the problem in a "kind and humane manner." No specifics. Not one. THAT is Obama's plan. ---- jds
P.S. Know how Mexico handles their illegal immigration problems? They are arrested, imprisoned and, eventually are sent back to their home countries. Such are the facts of an interview CNN's Wolf Blitzer had with the President of Mexico. Go figure.
