Obama finally admits what we already knew - that he is one of the more secretive presidents of all time.

If this is a real picture of Obama, and that is highly unlikely, it would have been taken back in the day he smoked pot and was using crack -- things he has admitted to doing. Do you know the percentage of crack users who actually kick that habit? Three percent. . . . . . Just sayin'

O.k. -- he didn't admit to being the most secretive of all time. But he did admit to violating his campaign promise regarding transparency. His term is "not living up to his promise." We call it "another campaign lie." We give you the following account:

President Obama on Tuesday said he "probably should have" made sure the closed-door meetings on Democrats' health care overhaul were broadcast to the public on C-SPAN — as he pledged during the campaign — and said it's a "legitimate criticism" to hold him accountable for not living up to his promise.

But Mr. Obama, answering a high school student's question about his administration's record on openness, stressed that most of the deliberations over the health care bills were in fact on television because they were negotiated in several congressional committees during open hearings. He also cited praise from an independent ethics watchdog group that has described his administration as the most open in recent history.

Speaking at a town hall in Nashua, N.H., Mr. Obama nevertheless acknowledged that he met repeatedly with Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill behind closed doors to discuss how to merge the House and Senate health bills, which take different approaches to several thorny issues. Doing so violated the letter and — according to some — the spirit of a pledge he made on the campaign trail to broadcast all the negotiations on C-SPAN.

And so Obama kind of confesses, couching his admission in the cloak of legitimate disagreement. . . yes I perhaps could have been more open but there are those who see my administration as the most transparent of all time.

If his is the most transparent administration of recent times, how is it that NO ONE knows what is in the health care bill except Pelosi and Reid? Why is that? Heck -- the man is not even open to his own party.

And how come we still do not know the names of his donor base for the past November elections? We have McCains complete list of donors. What about the Stimulus Bill ? No transparency there. In fact, no one in congress had time to read the bill before voting on the thing, as incredibly stupid as that sounds. And what about the $420 billion Omnibus bill passed passed last Spring? Anyone read that one? Anyone remember its passage? Anyone see it posted on the web for 5 days prior to its passage? How came we know next to nothing about his 42 czars ??? Where are his college records and transcripts? What about the speeches he made with ACORN or the records of the legal actions he took on their behalf ? He and his minions have run 23 trillion dollars through TARP -- why do we not know about that? Why were the meetings with head of SEIU closed to the public -- not even a summary statement as regards any of the 22 meetings last year. Where are the records of his work on teaching the US Constitution ? He is a Constitutional revisionist, by his own admission. Where is his work in this regard? And we could go on - the point is this: a defense of the claim to transparency is nothing more than a rude joke.

Our question is this: does he not know that few people (by comparison) will believe his campaign rhetoric the next time around? ----- jds
