First, he was down. Then he went on the attack and things improved. He is still on the attack but it ain't working out so well for him, is it ?

On the left are the Index numbers (-17 to a -4 and back up to a -8). In the two far-right hand columns, we have his approval/disapproval numbers from the "most likely voter" polling Rasmussens does on a daily basis. The "Presidential Approval Index" is a measure of the enthusiasm of those "for and against." His conduct saw some improvement there. But in the case of the hard numbers - the actual voter approval numbers, he saw very little improvement.

Last week, he gave his combative State of the Union Address and then he scolded the GOP Caucus. His side of the aisle loved it and the "-4" is indicative of their approval. As you look to the last several days, however, you will note, of course, that things are returning to "normal" for the Antagonist in our White House. Words are not going to have any lasting value for him and the events of the past week are proving this conclusion to be true.
