Obama angers both sides of the political spectrum in the same speech with the same words. And they said it couldn't be done !!

Midknight Review notes that in this chart, we have 42% showing that strongly disapprove of the Mr. Obama's performance while only 24% strongly approve. These numbers will not stay the same, of course, but if the election season were now, this Index roughly measures those who would actually be working for and against this Stranger in our White House.

He has managed to alienate both sides of the political spectrum - something many pundits thought unlikely on Inauguration Day nearly 1 year ago.

He has not come through on his promises to close GITMO, to end the war in Iraq, to get out of Afghanistan by the end of 2011 and to recognize gays in the military. So much for his ties with the Left.

He continues to work for the closing of GITMO, an early end to the war in Afghanistan and he apparently will get around to reversing Clinton's "don't ask don't tell" policy for gays in the military. So much for the Right. That he is able to discourage both sides on these issues is a rather remarkable rhetorical feat -- something that has not been done by a presidential leader in this country for some time. Indeed, the man has a way with words.
