Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.
Another example of the liberal bent on Fox Sunday programing
During
the noon hour this Sunday on Fox News, Arthel interviewed a black partisan named
Muriel. In the interview Mr. Muriel claimed that in 99% of police shootings, the officer(s) involved was not held responsible. The truth
is this: in most if not all police-involved shooting, there is a
review of that particular shooting by a police or citizens review board
or Internal Affairs, a review that holds the officer responsible or indictable. In other words, Muriel lied and Arthel did nothing.
Neil Cavuto an asshole???? Really? Maybe Trump's assessment of Neil is closer to the truth than some might think.
I didn't vote for Trump in 2016 but I will vote for The Man in November.
If I was going to quantify his conservative inspired accomplishments (there are some 250 at last count lus the Federal court system), I could safely say this President has done more for the conservative cause by a multile of 10, than the three GOP presidents since and including Reagan.
And (yesterday) Neil Cavuto spent nearly half his program opening trashing Trump for announcing that he was taking hydroxychloroquine and in doing so, Cavuto made a decdicated effort at framing the President as irresponsible . . . acting out without medical opinion support his announcment.
Well, here is the opinon of the doctor having medical oversight of our President:
Dr. Sean Conley: "After numerous discussions he (the President) and I had for and against the use of hydroxychloroquine, we concluded that the potential benefit from treatment (with Hydroxychloroquin) outweighed the relative risks.

Conservatives, do not panic. OF COURSE the Marxist Media is going to publish healines like this - over and over and over ad over . . . .
Joan E Greve / The Guardian:
Democrats feel tide turning their way in battle to flip US Senate
— The electoral map does not favor Republicans and the pandemic has
helped put them on defense in states they once thought safe — Just
three months ago, centrist Democrats were panicking.
__________________________
"Panic" leads to depressed voter enthusiasm.
The electoral map never favored conservatives holding the Senate, but neither did the electoral map favor a Trump victory in 2016.
You should know that a conservative (in some measure) has won the White House 24 years (30 if Trump wins in 2020) since and including Reagan, versus 16 years for the Dems.
Under Barack, the Dems lost both houses of Congress, coming down from super majorities, 1200 seats of power in local and state governments, and dropped to 17 governors, down from 24 when Obama took office.
Barack took in 3 million less votes in 2012 compared to his 2008 victory.
Joe Biden garnered 68,000 prinmary votes in 2008 versus 18 million for both Hillary and, again Barack . . . in other words, he was not and has never been a popular Democrat Presidential candidate .
Indeed, we could lose the coming election, but the elctoral maps move in favor of the GOP beginnng with 2024.
Now you know.
A discussion relating to Corona and our nursing home system:
On a multicountry trip to South America, President Ronald Reagan
couldn’t restrain himself from the inane observation that every tourist
finds himself making about such trips. “Every country is different.” So,
it seems, is every virus capable of spreading into a pandemic.
The great influenza of 1918-19, for example, tended to kill otherwise healthy people in the prime of life, ages 20 to 40. The COVID-19 virus tends to kill people age 70 and above, especially those with comorbidities.
Yet, even though that was apparent early on, America’s governors have done a poor job of protecting those most at risk — residents of nursing homes, elderly people with physical frailties and, often, cognitive impairment.
The result: One-third of reported coronavirus deaths in the United States, according to the New York Times's reporting, are of nursing home residents or workers. And nursing homes accounted for a majority of deaths in heavily hit states, such as New Jersey (52%), Massachusetts (59%), Pennsylvania (66%), and Connecticut (55%), and for 80% of deaths in otherwise lightly hit Minnesota.
That percentage is much lower (20%) in America’s COVID-19 epicenter, New York, but the Empire State still leads the nation with 5,403 nursing home deaths — about 1 out of every 14 COVID-19 deaths in the entire country.
Why so many? On March 25, the state health commissioner ordered nursing homes to accept patients with the virus. It’s unclear why he made this fatal decision. Maybe he wanted to keep hospital beds available. Or maybe he feared that sick people would be dumped onto the street.
When asked about this policy in late April, Gov. Andrew Cuomo professed ignorance. Two weeks later, on Saturday, after 46 days in effect, he reversed it.
New York wasn’t the only state that insisted on placing infected patients in nursing homes. New Jersey’s policy was similar, explicitly barring homes from requiring testing before admitting patients. California had the same policy but dropped it after 10 days.
Other states, recognizing the dangers of infecting the vulnerable, required or encouraged nursing homes to set up separate units or staffs to handle patients testing positive. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, widely criticized in the national media for avoiding a total lockdown, zeroed in on nursing homes, encouraging repeated testing and temperature-taking of residents and staff and isolating anyone testing positive. Florida, a state with 2 million more people than New York, had just 714 nursing home deaths, 13% of the number in New York.
As terrible as these nursing home policies have been, we ought to hesitate a moment before piling on. Remember that in March, epidemiologists and governors were worried that hospital facilities would be overwhelmed by COVID-19 patients in need of ventilators, which had been previously used to treat patients with severe respiratory function reduced by other viruses. The rationale was surely to get recovering patients out of those supposedly needed hospital beds.
The nursing home mandates of the Cuomo administration and others were obviously mistakes, with fatal consequences. So was the failure of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to produce virus tests, and so was President Trump’s failure to cut off air traffic from Europe in January at the same time he did so from China. And so, perhaps, will continued lockdowns be for many places, given the negative public health effects of economic collapse.
Government officials’ decisions about a novel virus will often turn out to be mistaken and cost lives. But decisions to send viral patients into nursing homes probably comes closest to justifying screams of “Blood on your hands!”
Fortunately, societies can learn from mistakes. We have learned that this virus is not easily spread in open spaces as originally feared. We have learned that the risk of fatalities among children and adolescents is near zero, perhaps less than that of the seasonal flu.
We have learned that our hospitals aren’t going to be overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients and that ventilators don’t help much. We have learned that it’s possible to protect elderly people, even nursing home residents with comorbidities, with high but not total effectiveness . . . . . .

Law firm hackers double ransom demand, threaten Donald Trump
— The ransom demand for the secret files of a cyber-attacked lawyer to
A-list stars has doubled to $42 million — as the hackers now threaten
to reveal “dirty laundry” on President Donald Trump in just a week if
they are not paid in full.
Now the Left fears that their example of post election antics will be repeated by Trump.
Brian Klaas / Washington Post:
We need to prepare for the possibility of Trump rejecting election results
— Since 2017, so many events in U.S. politics that were previously
unthinkable have come to pass. Don’t believe me? A few days ago, the
president of the United States baselessly accused
a cable television host of murder and it barely made a blip in the news
cycle. The shocking has become unsurprising — almost routine — under
Donald Trump’s unhinged presidency.
We don’t
know whether Trump will be reelected. But, as we head toward November,
you have to ask yourself: If he loses, would it be more surprising if
Trump graciously accepts defeat and congratulates his opponent or if he claimed to be the victim of a rigged election and a “deep state” plot?
The answer seems clear.
Editor: If you are a conservative reading this nonsense, the first thing that comes to your mind is the absolute and continuing fact that the Hillary Left rejected the election of 2016, branded Trump as an illegitimate President, hoisted a contrived accusation onto the nation's physique. Never forget.
The difference btween then and now is Trump.
Understand this: in the beginning of the Swine Flu (2009), no one knew how bad the epidenic would get . . . but no one seriously suggested that the government shutdown the economy under Obama. The longer the "shutdown" lasts, the more politicalit becomes. We are a little over 5 months from the national election and "they" have only Biden and Corona to carry them into battle.
The 2009 H1N1 pandemic originated in the United States before spreading around the world, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). A later study suggested it was first diagnosed in humans in Mexico. The CDC estimated that from April 12, 2009 to April 10, 2010, there were 60.8 million H1N1 cases, with 274,304 hospitalizations and 12,469 deaths in the U.S. alone. They also estimate that worldwide, 151,700 to 575,400 people died from (H1N1)pdm09 during the first year. Unusually, about 80% of the deaths were in people younger than 65 years of age.

You need to always remember the ever-present goal of our Marxist Media and that is . . . . . . . . . defeating Donald Trump and regaining the Senate.
It is clear to me that "they" have run out of ideas on how to beat Donald. They can't hate long enough so they are hoping to keep the current crisis alive long enough to influence the election. No doubt they intend to carry this Corona crisis right up and into November. I mean, they seriously have nothing else.
I read a recent poll that had Biden up on Trump by 9 points . . . . yes, Biden sitting alone in his basement, getting no media face time, physically deteriorating before our eyes, with very little to say, thinking those damn sunglasses will push him over the top . . . . THAT Joe Biden up by 9 ????!!!!
Good grief.
I can't guarantee the outcome, but if conservatives win in November, it will have a lot to do with Hillary and Biden. Look, if we conservatives were trying to pick the two strongest Democrat candidates Trump could beat in a general election, Hillary and Joe, we could not have done better. Maybe God is a bit of a conservative after all.

They pulled this stunt months ago, as well. Makes for an affective headline. Proves nothing. We already knew that the world is full of traitorous individuals, no?
2,000 former DOJ, FBI officials call on Barr to resign over Michael Flynn case
Neary 2,000 former Justice Department and FBI officials on Monday signed an open letter strongly critical of Attorney General William Barr's decision to abandon the prosecution of Michael Flynn, calling the action "extraordinarily rare, if not unprecedented."Editor: Do not miss the significance of this one word fact embedded in this headline: i,e, "former." Understand that this is not the rank and file but, rather, a cabal of those former professionals who have moved on to serve the Democrat base. Despite polling disadvantage, betting markets see Trump winning re-election
— Even after the White House's delayed response to the coronavirus
outbreak, unprecedented job losses and a bruising recession, investors
and betting markets are still putting their money on President Trump to
win re-election in November.
Look, there is only one reason "they" want his taxes record: To use as a weapon for his distruction. Ain't going to happen.

The Supreme Court Can't Help Trump Now Without Hurting Itself
— The conservative majority may want to contort the law so Trump can
hide his taxes, but the legitimacy of the courts will take a hit if they
do—especially if Biden wins the election — The Supreme Court is about
to hear cases.
Within a 7 day week, we would be hearing nothing but "expert analysis establishing Trump as a tax cheat, and, the publishing of dirt on those associates named in the Trump document. The nation does not need this. Besides, with May coming to an end, the Democrat Do-Nothing Cabal has already run out of time to use his tax returns in the coming election. Trump lawyers can use any number of issues to delay Trump's tax revelation. And never forget . . . he is under a 24/7 audit at some level, I mean, he owns some 540 businesses and is under constant IRS watch.
It will be fine with me if the system tells the worthless opposition to drop dead.

Texas Sen. Cruz blasts San Antonio City Council’s plan labeling ‘Chinese virus’ as hate speech
Editor: I am sure I was not the only one, but at the time we were adding "hate crimes" and "hate speech" to sentencing standards under the guise of adding protections for society, I knew "hate crimes and speech" would become tools designed to take away our freedoms.
You should know that hate speech was protected by our founders, in the very first amendment written in support/addition to our Constitution. Its called "free speech." Barack was our first president to insist on "correct speech" as protected speech and cautioned against expressing ideas with which he and his Progress Community did not agree . . . . and the Left chimed in with enthusiastic support.
While Barack failed in his immediate effort to "fundamentally transform the United States," he certianly was/is the political impetus for the extreme liberalism of the moment. To that extent, he was successful, and now, he and his wife are all about making money and benefiting from the capitalist system they pretend to reject.
In the meantime, the Left gathers political and legal powers enough to criminalize and punish those who make public statements against current Progressive and One World policies. And to think, we all witnessed the beginnings of this treasonous crap just 20/30 years ago.
What is noteworthy about Joe Biden and H1N1 ??
What is noteworthy about Joe Biden and H1N1 ?? Did you know that VP Biden was actually put in charge of dealing with the 2009 national effort fighting the Swine Flu. A vital part of his job was replenishing the national supplies of masks and ventillators. Didn't happen and that is why - in part - the nation was not prepared for the current Corona epidemic.
Make no mistake, I am not placing blame for our national unpreparedness solely on the Obama Administration. Still, if the Media is going to assess blame, Barack and Joe need to be a part of that assessment . . . even a critical part of the current issues.

It's bad, but the Corona death rate versus the general population is no worse than the Influenza. With a vaccine, the next season of Corna should be similar our fight against the flu, maybe mor successful.
To date, we have recorded 67,686 deaths in the U.S. with 31,000 of those deaths occurring within New York and New Jersey (only) .
