Just how bad has this crisis been for our nation? You may be shocked to realize that "herd immunity" has already been achieved (?)

Two California doctors recently (withn the past week) have given us this posit as relates to just how bad the virus has been with regard to the death rate.

At the time of their revelations/opinions,  the Los Angelas City infection rate was just under 14,000.  But local universities running their off the record tests, believe they can evidence an infection total of 442,000. That total is over 32 x  14,000.

CNN is currently showing a total infection number of over 1 million for the United States.  Because of the above,  a more realistic total is closer to 32 million infections versus a death rate of 57,533.  Put in terms of percentages,  we have a real time death rate of 0.00178, a number far less than first time or any previous estimate.

If these numbers bear out,  if, if, if, if,  we have already reached a "herd immunity" that should prevent a resurgence of equal proportions to the first weeks of this virus.

And so I write: "Not really" as a responce to the following fearmongering headline:

Ben White / Politico:
Trump faces the risk of a coronavirus cliff  —  Republicans are trying to pull off a high-wire act over the next three months: Reopen the economy enough to get most jobless Americans back to work and off the public dole, while resisting another giant stimulus package.

Understand that when the Media sows the seeds of possible doubt,  by the time the fear has been proven to be another red herring,  the thought of failure will still resonate in the minds of the doubters, thus the over-riding purpose of such headlines.

Finally,  you should know if my numbers prevail,  this virus was an over-rated crisis from the beginning.  Nobodies fault.  I mean,  how could we know  . . . .  seriously,  how could we have known?   So the precautions were justified.  But now,  it is time to get back to work and repair what should never have been broken.
