Politico:
Collins, Murkowski signal comfort with Kavanaugh
Editor's notes: Abortion is not the only issue, but it may be the "biggest" issue, and Collins/Murkowski may have sent signals that they are not especially concerned with Justice Kavanaugh on the matter.
Kavanaugh may be more inclined to limit abortion than to overturn the 1970's decision. If true (and he is pro-life), he is in line with the majority of Americans who oppose overturning Roe/Wade but, also, . . . . . .
favor serious limitations to the practice.
With this latest report, the prospect of returning the High Court to more literal interpretive process would seem to the future for the Court.
Understand that 14 of the past 18 justices appointed to the Court were appointed by Republican presidents. Sad but true. And I say "sad," because the Supreme Court, per the nomination imbalance, should have never gone so far to the Left. Obviously, being a "Republican" says very little when it comes to assessing the proclivity of past GOP Administrations.
