There is no such thing as "leading from behind."
There were no "shovel ready jobs." Sadly, Barack knew so little about a jobs-based economy, that he actually thought "shovel ready" sounded like a good idea.
Government does not create thriving economy, emphasis on "thriving." Understand that Barack thought "Cash for Clunkers" would ignite auto sales, and that, in turn, would kick start the economy in spite of increases in business taxation and a burdensome regulatory climate that broke the back of small lending institutions.
He also say a path to full employment repairing potholes, weather stripping our home, capturing the world for solar panel construction and supply.
He apparently did not know that county workers maintained our highways, potholes included. Neither did he know that most General Builders, supplied and installed weather stripping, and had done so for decades. And, since he refused to offer deregulation and a business tax break, foreign countries owned the solar panel business.
Barack decided that if the government paid for golf cart refunds, at tax time, this would ignite the electric car manufacturing base.
In other words, to all of the above, he was a very stupid man.
