Re BLM Mythology: I didn't watch the ESPY awards precisely because I knew what was going to happen and it happened with the . . . .

Before reading and listening,  I want you to know that I agree with nearly all of King Jame's commentary.  Having said that,  I think it was demonstrably racist to exclude the names of those murdered in Dallas by a sympathizer of the Black Lives Movement  ~  editor.

I didn't watch the ESPY awards precisely because I knew what was going to happen and it happened with the opening ceremony.

Look,  the four black athletes who took center stage to register their complaints regarding race and death within the black community were trying to do the right thing, AND, THEY ARE NOT WRONG in stating several of their complaints.   I get that.  BUT,  there is no "shoot to kill mentality" policy within our police force(s),  period.  The cops do not hate black youth.  There is no genocide going on in this country.  Recent research proves the point.

Understand that black youth, during a police stop,  are much more likely to tell a cop,  "Go to hell,  pig" than other youth.  These police stops are much more confrontational because of the black youth's angry bias,  and,  cops see this as a predictor of extreme violence during the stop.  They are afraid,  and are quick to draw their guns (without pulling the trigger),  handcuffing the detainee, and/or taking the detainee to the ground during the stop.

All that is necessary,  in evidencing my point,  is to watch what happens during the televised Black Lives Matters street riots.  You can actually see the hate, angry and total disregard for authority.  It is more than palpable.

As to the use of gun violence by our nation's policemen, we have these findings from a recent Harvard study:

1.  There were 1.6 million arrests in Houston in the years Mr. Fryer studied. Officers fired their weapons [only] 507 times [and Houston is a typical example].

2.  Blacks were 20% LESS LIKELY to being shot than other ethnicity.

3.  In shootings in . . . .  10 cities involving officers, officers were more likely to fire their weapons without having first been attacked when the suspects were white. Black and white civilians involved in police shootings were equally likely to have been carrying a weapon. Both results undercut the idea of racial bias in police use of lethal force.
4.  Not found in the report,  but in news reports this week,  is this fact:  Of the 2,100 shootings in Chicago,  this year,  only 9 were by the hands of the police force.
