Kaine is a great pick for Hillary, if you are looking to him through a progressive lens. He is a gun owner who supports expanded background checks. He is/was anti late term abortion but has a 100% rating from Planned Parenthood.

Sadly, Barack has so changed the political calculus of the Left, to included a total disregard for the two party system and Constitutional demands supporting "separation of [governmental] powers, " that none of us on the conservative side of the aisle, can know just how close to a One World positioning he and Hillary really are.

Fivethirtyeight gave Kaine a liberal rating of 37 where 100 was the most radical. However, his running mate, Hillary Clinton, is rated as as liberal as Elizabeth Warren and just a tad less than Bernie Sanders, per fivethirtyeight.
