Orlando was not the worst massacre in U.S. history.

The massacre at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando was a horrific tragedy. But it was not unprecedented – and it was not the “deadliest mass shooting in American history,” as many have called it.

To call it that is to forget the last hundred years of U.S. history of mass violence fueled by racial hatred and homophobia. Although precise numbers of deaths are impossible to specify, at least 100 African Americans were killed in East St. Louis, Ill., in one bloody night in July 1917; anywhere from 55 to 300 blacks were massacred in Tulsa, Okla., in 16 hours in June 1921; and dozens more were killed in Rosewood, Fla., in January 1923. (see the WSJ article, here).

Editor's notes:  And to think,  all of the above deaths were at the hands of Southern Democrats  !!!!   More importantly, however,  is the fact that we,  as a nation,  continues to ignore the gross injustice done to blacks,  especially during the Southern Democrats assault against that community.

  1. Those deaths were at the hands of southern conservative white people.

    1. Those deaths were at the hands of Southern Democrats and were 5 to 7 decades ago. Virtually all gangbanging families are Democrats as are the New Black Panthers, all of Jeremiah Wrights concregation, all of the thugs that follow Al Sharpton around, all of those involved in burning out cities to the ground, all who vandalize in the name of environmental justice (billions of dollars each year).
