Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.
Who won the debate? Well, one thing for certain, Matt Drudge has no clue:
Here is what is going in the Democrat/Confederate wing of the GOP. Following each of the GOP debates, Drudge posts a rolling result, he calls it a "poll," of who won the previous debate. In every case, all 16 debates to date, Trump has been the resounding winner. Problem: this "poll" is nothing more than a sampling of Drudge readership dynamics. Turns out his readership is largely those who could be classified "Democrat/Confederates" whether they be evangelicals, cud chewers from the Ozarks, or responsible GOP leadership.
All [real] polls have controls that sort for "actual voters," those who claim to be Democrat or Republican or Independent, whether one is male or female, and age among other polling dynamics. Drudge simply asks those who come to his site, "what do you think," without any of the above polling concerns. It is meaningless except for use as a marker determining Matt Drudge's following. In reality and in my opinion, Trump looked like a fool, Kasich may have been the winner on substance, but Rubio and Cruz made very good points, as well.
