Here may be Kasich's Achilles heel . . . .

Here may be Kasich's Achilles heel  . . . . . . . . .   "money,"  or the lack thereof.

John Kasich / Plain Dealer:
John Kasich's presidential campaign began March with $1.25 million, new filing shows  —  Ohio Gov. John Kasich speaks at a town hall event at Utah Valley University, Friday, March 18, 2016, in Orem, Utah.  ( (Kim Raff, The Associated Press)  —  Henry J. Gomez, cleveland.com By Henry J. Gomez, cleveland.com  . . . .

Editor's notes:  Christie quit the race with poor numbers and one million dollars in the bank.  Ditto Kasich.  Big difference,  however:  Kasich may stay in the race in spite of not having adequate funding for his commercial (TV) campaign,  in the desperate hope that he can steel the election's nomination at the convention.

Personally,  I believe that he has already had "the meeting" with "party bosses" (for lack of a better phrase),  and has reason to believe that if Trump does not get the requisite 1237, before the convention,  he,  Kasich,  will have the help of the Establishment in the floor fight that will ensue.  Realistic projections have Trump with 25 states and 1170 votes; Cruz with 15 states and 800 votes;  and,  Kasich with no more than 4 states and 300 delegates. Only Trump is on a path to exceed these projections and garner the 1237.

Understand this,  I am not saying he will be appointed.  Rather,  the Establishment Bosses will work for his nomination as he tries to gather 1237 votes in the second or third or sixth round.  Be that as it may,  the problem is this,  if neither Trump nor Cruz win the nomination AND Kasich comes to the national convention with four states in the win column  and less than 300 delegates,  there will be a massive desertion and the party looses in the general election.
