Mission Statement: This blog reviews the news of the day in light of 242 years of American history. "Nationalism," a modern day pejorative, has been our country's politic throughout history, until 2008. Obama changed that narrative. Trump is seeking a return to our historical roots. Midknight Review supports this return to normality.
Does Obama not know that 70% of Americans do not agree with him on gun control ??
This Thanksgiving, the Obama administration wants Americans to talk
about why Congress won’t pass more gun control.
Nearly three weeks after the latest mass shooting claimed the lives of nine people, 52% of Americans now oppose stricter gun control laws, 6 percentage points more than the 46% of Americans who support such laws. That's a wider gap than in June when CNN last surveyed Americans on gun control, finding that the public was equally split at 49% on the issue.
53% Oppose Stricter Gun Control Laws - Rasmussen Reports
Gallup shows 73% of Americans believe in the high value of the 2nd Amendment (http://www.gallup.com/poll/105721/public-believes-americans-right-own-guns.aspx)
Understand that when polls show support for "stricter" gun laws, they are talking about background checks. I happen to believe in background checks but not as ordered by the Feds. California has those laws in place, and I own one hand gun, a long rifle (both repeaters) and two shotguns.
Obama and Hillary oppose private gun ownership and, on that issue, they are in the extreme minority.
CBS News/New York Times Poll. Oct. 21-25, 2015. N=1,289 adults nationwide. Margin of error ± 4.
