Signed by 47 House congressmen Senators, this letter tells Iran that if the Obama deal is agreed to, without the approval and review of the Senate, the agreement is temporary at best. Unlike Iran, the United States does not have a dictator or an authoritarian leader. We are a true representative democracy. And, if the proposed "deal" violates our protocols and Constitutional laws, congress will not be bound to honor taht agreement in perpetuity. The time has finally come that the GOP has grown a backbone. First, in exercising its right as a co-equal branch of government in inviting Netanyahu to speak, last week. And, now, in making it clear that Obama may be in violation of current law and protocols.
Understand that a new WSJ survey, published today, the 9th, shows 71% of the American people do not believe that Obama is doing any lasting good with this "deal" with Iran. When you realize that 57% of the American people, also, approved of the Netanyahu invitation, you see that, once again, Obama is on the wrong side of what the American people want. He can huff and puff all he wants; he is not scoring points with The Folks, and he and his party will pay the price, again, come 2016, if he continues in his authoritarian ways. And, make no mistake, he will continue to work as a "father knows best" version of a authoritarian dictator. He has treated the GOP as the opposition, for years. Finally, they (the GOP) has accepted that role.
All we are doing, now, is waiting for this self-serving, angry/petulant manchild, to finish his term in office so we can get back to normal.
