The 2010 midterms were historic, but they may be soon forgotten if GOP trend lines continue to improve.

Gary Langer / ABC News:NEW!
Trouble Looms for Obama, Democrats with Election Day 2014 Approaching  —  Barack Obama and his political party are heading into the midterm elections in trouble.  The president's 40 percent job approval rating in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll is the lowest of his career …

Editor's notes: the headline tells it all.  Anytime the party's president (whether GOP or Dem) is below 45% approval,  that party is in serious electoral trouble.  Gallup has Obama at 39% approval,  and the most recent ABC/WaPost has the Slickster at 40%.

The readership has seen precious little on this matter in the national news.   It should be noted that no major news outlet picked up this storyline, in a silly effort to deceive the voter and/or minimize this new's devastating consequences.

Understand that the ABC/WaPost poll proves the angst felt against the Democrat majority.  There is a difference between voting for a party and voting against a party.  Admittedly,  the GOP does not fare well in such polls.  That seems to be a constant,  in American electoral politics.  But, in spite of its seeming unpopularity,  the GOP manages to win elections and play a key role in keeping this nation somewhat in touch with its founding roots.

On the other hand,  however,  the same cannot be said of the New Utopian/Democrats (NUD) leadership.   NUD has been in power as never before,  beginning with Obama's victory in 2008.  They scandered the opportunity to institutionalize their agenda in 2009-2010 and are to blame for the do nothing status of the present congress,  and the voter knows this.  This election cycle will be a statement against the the New Utopian Democrats and recent polling seems to confirm this theory.

Right track/wrong track polling puts this nation on the "wrong track" with margins of between 60% to 80%,  depending on the particular poll.   And the "generic ballot" separates the GOP from the Dems by the historic margin of 12 pts.
