<<< "Cool" does win wars, balance budgets, create jobs, drive the economy, or pass an honest piece of legislation -- but he keeps trying.
To begin, this know-nothing president is managing the war effort . . . . personally. He has never managed a fruit stand and now he is running a war ???!!! And he is a Nobel Peace Prize winner, a modern day peacenik, a man who hates war and his job as "Commander" of the baddest military in the world.
Second, he has voiced the opinion that wars need not have "victors or vanquish." My goodness, if there are no losers, how does he win this war?
Third, when asked about the definition of victory in the Afghan conflict, he stated that "victory," as we understood that word, was not possible in the battle against terror. There is no reason to believe that he has altered this opinion, today. Understand that "no victory" means "no winning strategy." The two are organically tied together.
Fourth, he is bombing [primarily] targets of opportunity, fixed targets, not personnel. To be clear, he is not killing the enemy; he is only blowing up buildings and bridges and the like. If he is not killing the enemy and refuses (fifthly) to put combat troops on the ground, it is impossible to accomplish his stated goal to destroy ISIS.
Sixth, Egypt has already voiced the opinion that Obama cannot be trusted to follow through with his "commitment." No one in the region trusts this man, and that is why he has fallen far short of his goal of a 40 member active coalition.
A seventh reason for failure is found in the fact that he has not been able to enlist the help of any nation in putting troops into the battle, when European, Australian or Arab . . . . . . no one is so involved.
Smithson wants the US to fail. Celebrates the possibility of any US failure.
ReplyDeleteAnd he calls himself a patriot.
Disgusting.
You're the Marxist punk, here. You cannot find one word of celebration for what your ilk is doing and has done to this once great nation. You have no idea what "patriot" means. You despise the Constitution, the Founders, the discovery of this nation, its rebellion against a repressive government, our national history, the concept of representative democracy and the fact of our comparative exceptionalism.
DeleteSorry, but your way of thinking is obsolete. Your bigoted isolationist false patriotism is only supported by the narrow minded elderly, the least educated rural dwellers and a few racists. The GOP may gain support during this coming election on the strength of the least educated white Americans (in AR, LA, KY), but it will be their last gasp. You are just now seeing the beginnings of a more liberal and inclusive America. If you can live a few more years, you will see America become a kinder, richer, smarter and more diverse nation under new liberal leadership that will improve the standard of living and the future for everyone. The writing is on the wall. You're a dinosaur. A paranoid and hateful dinosaur.
Delete" it (this year's midterms) will be their last gasp." Funny, that is what you folks were saying in 2006, and especially in 2008. I remember Carville cheering the death of Conservatism and Dick Durbin pronouncing the end of "traditional values" and "the war on terror" in the aftermath of 2008. Since Obama, we have taken back the House, made huge gains in the Senate, increased the conservative hold in the gubernatorial scene, flipped more than 700 local Democrat positions to the GOP and may be riding ANOTHER wave in 4 weeks.
Delete"Kinder . . . nation" so says a man whose party invented the KKK, wrote ALL of the Jim Crow laws, believes in force union membership, uses thugs to threaten the middle class labor force, wants to get rid of the 1st and 2nd Amendments, supports dictatorial rule, pushes to criminalize free speech, supports Islam and kisses up to its leadership on every occasion possible, hates Israel, and has weaponized many of the federal agencies in an effort to silence opposition speech.
delusional, living in the no longer relevant long past.
DeleteOccupy America is the contingency that uses the KKK and Jim Crow as examples of Republican malfeasance, not me. You are fine with that, since you have used these examples in the past. Me? I am just setting the record straight and helping to rebrand the Progressive Democrats for what they are, using their own history.
