Myth of arctic meltdown: Stunning satellite images show
summer ice cap is thicker and covers 1.7million square kilometres MORE than 2
years ago...despite Al Gore's prediction it would be ICE-FREE by now
Seven years after former US Vice-President Al Gore's
warning, Arctic ice cap has expanded for second year in row
An area twice the size of Alaska
- America 's
biggest state - was open water two years ago and is now covered in ice
These satellite images taken from University of Illinois 's
Cryosphere project show ice has become more concentrated
The speech by former US Vice-President Al Gore was
apocalyptic. ‘The North Polar ice cap is falling off a cliff,’ he said. ‘It
could be completely gone in summer in as little as seven years. Seven years
from now.’
Those comments came in 2007 as Mr Gore accepted the Nobel
Peace Prize for his campaigning on climate change.
But seven years after his warning, The Mail on Sunday can
reveal that, far from vanishing, the Arctic ice cap has expanded for the second
year in succession – with a surge, depending on how you measure it, of between
43 and 63 per cent since 2012. (quote taken from the Daily Mail because the Marxist Media are in denial).
Editor’s notes: these
weather satellites are the same satellites (RSS) whose data shows a 17 year
slowdown to reversal, of global warming
averages and increases in regional cooling.
The data used in this blog comes from government satellites. You know this, yet you continue to lie about the sources used on this blog. Sea ice is down, yes. Sea ice is making "a come back." Yes.
ReplyDeleteMail Online is my news source and their article sources there facts. Try to keep up.
Perhaps you underestimate the intelligence of your readers or just like to post stuff that reinforced your conspiracy tainted opinions. Readers of this blog, go ahead and google the author of Smithson's citation David Rose, see what kind of credibility he has.
ReplyDelete"Comes from gov't satellites" Why don't you go to the gov't website that has that data ? No you'd rather hear it in tabloid form from David Rose who compares this years ice -which is lower than average - to the ALL TIME low observed just 2 years ago. And this means what to Smithson? It's almost like having to explain things to a child.
On August 17, 2014 - the sea ice extent was 1.03 million square kilometers (398,000 square miles) below the 1981 to 2010 long-term average.
In case anyone is really interested in facts here... more from the National Snow and Ice Data Center:
Extent is particularly low in the Laptev Sea where open water now extends to about 85 degrees latitude, less than 560 kilometers (350 miles) from the North Pole. This is the one region of the Arctic where ice loss has been exceptional in 2014 compared to recent summers. Ice extent is also very low in the East Greenland Sea, possibly as a result of reduced ice transport through Fram Strait.
This post should tell you a bit about Smithson's level of critical thinking. Hint: Anytime you try to discuss climate science with someone and they keep bringing up Alinsky, you've a real piece of work on your hands, to say it as polite as I can.
I remind all who read this running comment debate, that I was correct as to the stable to growing polar bear population. I have been proven correct with regard to the 17 year "pause" in global warming and, as a matter of consequence, proven correct when I say that warming (all 3 tenths of one degree Cel in 60 years) is not caused by greenhouse gases. Clearly, during the 17 years "pause," green gases have continued to be produced without effecting a warming trend. ALL my info on either ice cap comes from RSS surveillance. I don't care what paid government stooges say, the actually RSS data is without debate. The fact of the matter is this: RSS imagining shows a 43% percent increase in ice at the northern cap . . . . period. My goodness, one would think this bunch of Harvard grads could understand pictures, but maybe not. Still, Al Gore was wrong.
DeleteYou and your revolutionary, redistributionist, Utopian buds practice Alinsky style revolution. I and others, simply expose that fact for what it is.
Strawman argument. Is the earth warming? Of course. I have never denied that fact. It is caused by greenhouses produced by man? No and the last 17 years proves my point.
ReplyDeleteUnderstand that the earth is warming -------- IN TERMS OF TEMP AVERAGES. That does not mean that warming is global. Indeed, it is not. Rather, it is regional and cyclical. Them is the facts.
