<<<< Before "moderate" Republicans get discouraged with Sarah Palin's decision to support impeachment, or, Democrats start with their arrogant game of ridicule, know that Bush 41 is the only president of the past five, for which serious impeachment discussion/effort was not entertained. Carter would have been a sixth, but we voted his incompetent buns out of office . . . same difference. Update: Of course, Nixon belongs on this list; Johnson was so unpopular that the refused to run for a second term, and the mob, used by the CIA in clandestine, special ops activities, killed JFK. We have quit a history, when one stops to think about it, of hating our presidents. On second thought, even Bush 41, was voted out after his first and only term.
Clearly, Obama is past deserving of impeachment. He is far more crooked than Nixon. But impeachment is not possible without some cooperation from the Democrats, and, as things stand at this moment, there is no reason to believe any Democrat would vote for impeachment.
A failed impeachment effort, would probably have the same effect on the party as did the Clinton impeachment effort. But, as long as "impeachment" is talk, it will not hurt the GOP at election time. There is no reason to believe that such an effort will ever get off the ground.
In my headline, "Joe Biden" is my reason for not pursuing this course of action. Get rid of Obama, and you wind up with a man, Joe Biden, who may have dementia. Most certainly, he does not have the intellect needed to function as president. We would be replacing one clown with another clown.
I think that if we are not going to impeach Obama, and we are not, we should reverse the impeachment of Nixon and issue him an apology.
