The following Telegraph Report was published today. In
the after notes, you can read the definitive CIA report on WMD's,
dated, 2007. Read to your heart's content. I would love
to take time to tell the Bush haters, "I told you so,"
but I am laughing too hard to actually finish working on this article. Bon appetitt.
Chemical weapons produced at
the Al Muthanna facility, which Isis
today seized, are believed to have included mustard gas, Sarin, Tabun, and VX.
Here is the CIA’s
file on the complex.
Quote Stockpiles of chemical
munitions are still stored there. The most dangerous ones have been declared to
the UN and are sealed in bunkers.
Although declared, the
bunkers contents have yet (in 2007 ~blog editor) to be confirmed. These areas of the compound
pose a hazard to civilians and potential blackmarketers.
Numerous bunkers, including
eleven cruciform shaped bunkers were exploited. Some of the bunkers were empty.
Some of the bunkers contained large quantities of unfilled chemical munitions,
conventional munitions, one-ton shipping containers, old disabled production
equipment (presumed disabled under UNSCOM supervision), and other hazardous
industrial chemicals.
______________
From the CIA report linked to, above, and dated April of 2007:
Prior to OIF (OIF = Operation Iraqi Freedom) , Iraq removed
buildings and their contents from the northern section of the Chemical
Precursor storage area. The facilities at the southern section of the facility
were removed by unknown entities between April and June of 2003.
Between 2002 and OIF
the Iraqis removed some of the facilities/warehouses (photo above). This
activity was probably not WMD related.
This facility was all about
the production/maintenance/storage of lethal/weaponized product. In the above,
“The facilities at the southern section of the facility were removed by
unknown entities . . .” which means, the
“facility” and its lethal contents, were
removed by unknown entities within the Hussein government.
The report – written after the Bush’s Iraqi invasion - goes
on to state plainly: Stockpiles of chemical munitions are still
stored there [Al Muthanna]. The most
dangerous ones have been declared to the UN and are sealed in bunkers. Although
declared, the bunkers contents have yet to be confirmed. These areas of the
compound pose a hazard to civilians and potential blackmarketers.
The majority of the Al
Muthanna complex was bombed during Desert Storm, completely incapacitating
Iraq’s chemical weapon production capabilities, however, large stockpiles of
chemical weapons and bulk agent survived.
Stockpiles of chemical munitions are still stored there. The most
dangerous ones have been declared to the UN and are sealed in bunkers.
