The Hero Who Died Looking for Bowe Bergdahl
Lt. Darryn Andrews left a pregnant wife and son behind when
he saved six fellow soldiers at the expense of his own life. But his family
never knew his true mission—until now.
When he saw the Taliban fighter pop up and prepare to fire a
rocket-propelled grenade, Lt. Darryn Andrews could have saved himself by diving
for cover. . . . . . “Second Lieutenant Andrews fatally placed himself
between the incoming enemy fire and his fellow comrades. His courage under fire
was essential in saving another Soldier’s life, and saving the lives of five
other Soldiers who were with him.”
By the official count, Andrews had saved a total of six
fellow soldiers at the expense of his own life.
And that remarkable number makes it only more outrageous
that the U.S. Army lied to Andrews’s family after his death. . . . . The
Andrews family was told the truth by soldiers who had served with Andrews,
including the sergeant he had saved by pushing him from harm’s way in his final
living instant.
The soldiers further informed the family that they had been
ordered not to reveal their true mission, lest it complicate the hunt for
Bergdahl. They even had been forced to sign nondisclosure agreements . .

Editor's notes; Interestingly to this
Conservative Patriot and partisan, I have lived long enough to realize
there are those on the Left, even the far Left, who have a respect
for what is right and wrong, especially in such circumstances as the
Bergdahl mess. I do not believe "they" (the Liberal press) are motivated,
exclusively, by politics. Certainly, in this situation, there was no need, for
example, for the leftis, Daily Beast, to honor Lt. Andrews,
and tell the truth Bergdahl, beginning with a cover-up that began
years ago.
Why the cover-up began years before his "rescue,"
will be part of the discussion over the next few weeks, if not months into the
future. As for me, I believe that Bowe Bergdahl's disappointment
with the Afghan war, stated in emails to friends and family, was
agreeable to Obama from the very beginning. When this deserting
soldier made this a political issue, in his emails, he appealed to
the more critical concerns of this Administration.
This controversy is not going way. Why? Because
there is no other action, short of a soldier firing on his own,
that is held in greater contempt, than desertion. Besides the 2010 military report finding Bergdahl to have been a deserter, we have the members of his own battlefield unit, 6 of whom died, trying to bring him back, men who know what happened, and, appear ready to talk about it.
Understand that when Leftist apologists say, "No one knows what really happened," they are simply lying. There are plenty of folks who know, six of them, now, dead, including Lt Andrews.
Hats off to The Daily Beast, for telling the truth and giving honor to whom honor is due.
