While this is true for
most Americans, that according to GALLUP:
Americans Trim Holiday Spending Plans..., the comrades over at Government
Central are expecting Taxes
Will Hit Record $3 Trillion in '14... .
Contrary to popular
Marxist/Socialist belief, the have’s are
those in our government and the have nots are those who are losing their
freedoms, not to mention their
money.
Understand that in political theory, the enemy of the people is a collective that includes private property owners, called "bourgeoisie" in Marxist theory, and properly defined as the "middle class" (see Marriam/Webster here ). Marxist theory is taught at Harvard, btw, at least from a historical perspective and most of the Left's ruling class comes out of Harvard.
In Marxist theory, it is the bourgeoisie or "middle class," that industrializes/modernizes a nation and, then, uses the capabilities inherent to these advances, to gain and monopolize wealth. In Marxist theory, the non-owner class, the "have nots," are called the "proletariat," folks with no private property ownership, used as "workers" by the bourgeioisie. It is this class that rises up, in violent rebellion, destroys the power of the bourgeiosisie and its use of capital-ism, and sets in its place, a collectivist regime in which the common good is served, profit as a possession of the few is deemed "evil," privately owned property and businesses are confiscated and used by the state for the common good. Of course, this is only theory, and has never proven out to be workable, in real life . . . . . never. Yet, the Elizabeth Warrens, Hillary Clintons (not Bill) and the Obama's of the world, continue to believe in its efficacy.
What they do not see, or refuse to admit, is this: in their application of an amended Marxist theory, the "bourgeioisie" is not defeated, but rather, elected to power and serves to control all those (with or without property ownership) who are seen as members of the proletariate or non-ruling class. The bourgeioisie does not have enough political power in the popular vote, to prevent or end this circumstance, leaving the ruling class in place for long periods of time.
In time, this system, call it socialism or communism, falls in or itself, the proletariate rebels against the ruling class because it is no longer being served, and the bourgeioisie gains prominence, once again.
In other words, unrelenting reality becomes the viable and dynamic enemy of the ruling, collectivist, class. At that point, only a strong military presence keeps the socialist regime in power, and Marxism/socialism/progressism, devolves into its worst form of governance, a society that is run by dictatorship.
In the United States and because of the guarantees of the Constitution, there is only the Middle Class. Some are poor and some are filthy rich, but all have the right to private property and the opportunity for what is called "upward mobility" apart from government intervention or federal invention and that, boys and girls, if the societal definition of "middle class."
Marxism/Progressivism, in our system, is antiquated as a theory and counter to the principles of our founding. American capitalism is very different from the European capitalism of old. Marxism is a response to the European system. Freedom and individual rights are the tools used in the American system in place of Marxism. The two are diametrically oppose to each other. One has survived the test of time, the other never has.
Understand that the "poor" in the United States, rank in the top 15% of the world's population and American/Constitutionally endowed capitalism is the reason. Reason enough to defeat the proponents of "national transformation" and political "progressivism."
